Recipe: Summer cocktail

I know I wrote about my concern with alcohol last week, but that doesn’t mean I never drink alcohol. I love wine and sweet cocktails, but I limit myself to one or two at a time. Alcohol is one of life’s pleasures when enjoyed in moderation.

This wine-based summer cocktail is called Aperol Spritz and is perfect for the summer. It’s also very easy to make – no complicated upside-down shaking skills required! It’s bittersweet and colorful and made with Prosecco, my all-time favorite drink. The alcohol content isn’t that high and you can add a little more ice and soda water to keep it even lower. It’s my favorite drink of all times! When in family, I make two mixes, one as you mention for the prosecco lovers, and the other one (for Flo and me) inverting the proportions of aperol and prosecco for a bit more of an intense bitter taste -which I surprisingly enjoy! 🙂 It brings me back to when we visited Venice three years ago and shamelessly ate pizza and drank an aperol as “aperitivo” every single day!

Those mixes sound great! This cocktail also makes me slightly nostalgic for Italy… Love it! X
