What I dream about

I’ve written about my goals before, which I am currently working towards. In my opinion, goals are different from dreams; goals are usually quite tangible and relatively short-term, while dreams are things you imagine for yourself one day. It keeps life interesting and worth living. Here’s what I dream about.

1. A free life

The number one thing I dream about is being free. Free from any restrictions I feel I have right now. Free from obligations, rules, routine, and responsibilities. Financially free, free from looking a certain way, feeling a certain way and living a certain way. I dream about living only for myself and doing the things I love to do. I dream about waking up in the morning with no clear schedule and no real idea where the day will take me. Freedom means something different to all of us, but for me a free life is one where I make all the rules. A life where I don’t walk a single step or utter a single word because someone else tells me to. That’s freedom!

2. A life filled with love

No matter what you achieve, how much success you have or how much money you earn, it all doesn’t mean much unless you can share it with someone. Whenever I accomplished something in my life so far, the first thing I’d do is call someone. Whenever something good happens, I want to share it with the people I care about. This is truly what matters most: surrounding yourself with people you love and who love you just the same. I dream of a life filled with loving people, who are healthy and live full, happy lives themselves. I dream of big dining room tables filled with people during the holidays, a house where people can always stop by, a fridge filled with food for whoever decides to stop by, a living room filled with picture frames, laughter, jokes and stories we’ve heard a million times before. It’s the people in your life that really make life worth living.

3. A full life

I dream about living a life full of thrills and excitement. A life with a lot of highs and some occasional lows, to make the highs more exciting. I want to spend my days growing and learning new things, getting uncomfortable and maybe even a little scared sometimes. I want to be humble and always feel like there’s something left to learn and discover. I want to travel, meet new people and keep getting surprised by how big the world actually is. I want to do the things that make me crazy happy, so happy that I can’t sleep at night. I want to taste new flavors, laugh a little harder each day and keep pushing myself to be better. I want to make other people laugh and feel like I’ve made a difference in their lives. And most of all: I don’t ever want to be done. When the end of my life is near I want to feel like I can do it all over again.
